JH Ranch is offering three (3) $1000 scholarships to qualified applicants that are planning to continue their education in a college, university or technical training facility. JH Ranch’s summer program encourages its guests to be leaders in their communities, wherever the Lord may place them. Eligibility- The applicant must: 1. Be a current graduate of Etna High School or Scott River High School 2. Homeschool graduates from the Scott Valley area will be evaluated on a case by case basis. (Confirming residency and completion of California State requirements for High School completion equivalency.) 3. Or be an alumni of Etna High School or Scott River High School 4. Have a current minimum of a 2.5 cumulative grade point average 5. Provide official or unofficial transcript(s) confirming grades 6. The Scott Valley Lions Club will be awarding a $500 scholarship to an Etna High graduating senior that is planning on attending a vocational/technical school after graduation. The scholarship will be awarded to a student that has demonstrated service to their community and has plans for future service to the Scott Valley community and/or society in general. This scholarship will be awarded based on academic achievement, community service, career goals, and your plans for future service to the Scott Valley community and/or society in general. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who excels in the natural sciences, and who is planning to pursue a career in a life science profession. It is awarded based on achievement, motivation, and potential, as opposed to financial need. Eligible students must be entering a 4-year college or university program in the 2018/2019 school year with a natural science related major such as environmental science, biology, or botany. Plant science or botany majors will be given preference. Please see that potential applicants at your school are made aware of this scholarship. The purpose of the Sacred Heart Altar Society Scholarship program is to provide financial assistance to graduating high school students of the Catholic faith who plan to continue their education at an accredited place of higher learning. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must be a member of Sacred Heart Church in Fort Jones, St. Mary’s Church in Etna, or All Saints Church in Happy Camp. The student must also participate in parish activities and attend Mass on a regular basis. Confirmation is preferred but will not exclude a student from receiving a scholarship if he/she demonstrates good standing in the Parish. The amount of the scholarship will vary from $250 - $500 depending on the number of qualified applicants and the available funding. The scholarship award will be paid directly to the school of the student’s choice. Applicant Qualifications: -Applicants must have attended a high school in Siskiyou County for at least 2 years. -Must have a 2.5 total GPA -Must have interest in the sport of hunting and fishing. -Must have completed his or her hunter's safety course.
